Dear Friends,
Welcome to my website! It’s such a privilege for me that you’ve stopped by to view my art.
I hope that you’ll not only find exciting and inspirational images but you’ll also enjoy the stories and history behind the paintings and prints.  I’ll regularly present you with new images and stories and along the way I’ll offer you a sneak peek behind the hangar door so you can watch an idea become a painting.
If you’re looking for a particular aircraft or image that you don’t see on the website, shoot me an email or give me a call! Chances are I have it archived. Or I can create a custom drawing or painting for you.  You’ll have fun watching your commissioned piece take flight!
Thank you again for visiting. Send us your feedback so we can continue to make this site fun and interesting every time you stop by.
Happy Tailwinds!
– Rick

Tears in my eyes...

Dear Rick, I am happy to join so many others who enjoy your magnificent work. When I first started acquiring “Herters” in 1985, I never imagined that now after thirty years I would own a collection of the finest aviation art anywhere. Everyone without exception comments just how exciting and perfect your work is. Your painting of Boo still puts tears into my eyes it having captured her spirit and soul. You are a fine artist, a fine man and a valued historian of aviation history.

Always astounding!

“Ever since I saw the first painting of Rick several years ago on the internet, I immediately took a strong liking to his art. His realism and his excellent choice of strong colors make him a standout artist in the field of aviation art. Having commissioned a number of paintings with Rick, I can only say that it is very easy to communicate with him and the end result is always astounding and most satisfying. Time and again, I am fascinated with the way he transforms his or someone else’s idea into a wonderful work of art. Rick belongs, in my humble opinion, to the world’s top artists in his field who sells his paintings at very reasonable prices”.

Historically gratifying

We have several of Rick’s works in our collection. We are exceedingly lucky in that a number of them are the original oils. Two of our originals are commissioned pieces. The level of research to ensure the historical accuracy of the paintings was very gratifying. Rick was very easy to work with and spent alot of time with us to ensure that the vision we had in our minds was transferred to canvas. There were many drawings giving perspective that we went through. The final painting exceeded our expectations and those of the recipient, with a perfect historical accuracy. We look forward to seeing more of Rick’s works on our walls.
