This painting was commissioned by Airbus North American and presented to Delta Airlines upon delivery of the first U.S. assembled A321 for Delta Airlines. Delta took delivery of the U.S. assembled jet in December of 2016. Since that time Delta has added and ordered more than 250 Airbus A321’s making the aircraft the cornerstone of the Delta fleet. In this painting the first A321 for Delta has taken off from Buckley field near Mobile Alabama and is beginning its turn to the North to its final home in Atlanta, Georgia.
